How do I set up the Positioner Mounting System?

You should receive these standard components when you purchase a Daessy Positioner Mount:

This is a picture of the standard pieces to the Positioner mount.

1.  On the Wheelchair, select the location where you will be attaching the Frame Clamp.

2. Loosen the 2 bolts from the cap of the Frame Clamp until the cap is removed. Fit the cap of the clamp around the tube on the inside of the bar. Replace the bolts and tighten gently by alternating between the two bolts as you tighten them. Make sure the bolts are tight when you are finished.

Note:  The Cap should face towards the inside of the wheelchair and the Body, with the blue knob, should face away from the wheelchair.

3  On the outside of the Clamp, the body with the blue knob should be facing up so the knob can be turned and the mount can be removed easily from the frame.  This is the locked position.

4.  Loosen the bolt on the Frame Clamp so you can slide the Positioner bar into position.  When you  have the bar installed, tighten the bolt to hold the bar in position.

5.  Adjust the Height Clamp and the 2 ball-joints to the necessary position.

6.  Now you can attach the Quick Release Base, either the PRC3 or the QRM to the horizontal bar. Slide the device onto the Quick Release Base and lock into position.

WARNING:  If you need to make adjustments to the mount, support or remove your communication aid from the mount first.
